Imagine the lights go out, never to return. Bright aurora flare across the sky, and all humanity’s technological might is laid to waste, neutralized in a kind of quiet apocalypse. Everything that has shielded humanity from the disinterested power of Mother Nature is suddenly wrenched from us, dropping us a few links down the food chain. Food and water are scarce. The roads are no longer safe. And winter approaches…

ALPHA OPENING That's right guys, after much work We Are Human is now in its Alpha Opening Stage. So what does this mean? It means that all the documentation is completed, however there may still be tweaks and changes as the site progresses. There may also be typing errors. So jump on! After all we have two big events happening - what will happen is all up to you!
SKILLS, PETS AND MORE New Skills have been released and things have been reorganised into a Knowledgebase. There's been a new way to gain skills and this has been finalised now - and pets have been released divided into two types
It is Year 1 after the incident. Currently it is Late Autumn and there are 25 days until Winter hits. Best stock up on supplies, as the weather will only get harsher from here.

looks like you've got your first new member, the site really has me curious at the moment and considering yall are just starting out it looks like, and i'm also accustomed to stuff like this- but not plot wise- real life! i'm not canadian, but i have at least a good bit of hunting skills under my belt (for my age, at least). raised in a rural west-virginian family, we mostly farmed, hunted, and fished. i wasn't near as cut of from the rest of the world as i often portray my character to be, but the skills i learned and the beliefs i was taught are pretty much the same. if you ever need help with lore or are just short handed, i'll be happy to assist yall with anything.~
i would've introduced myself before now, but it seems cbox is down, it's the same on my other site as well. >v> anyway, i go by Zed, and my OOC name will likely be either Zed or Zero. my skype is qixoninebula where my name displays Zero (Zed), my discord Zero2HeroZed, and if you add me, just tell me where you're coming from (aka just say 'i'm ____ from we are human!'), or else i'll probz just assume you're a bot, i'm picky about who i accept. i'll also probz nickname you so i don't forget who you are.
otherwise, i'm 19, mostly several different kinds of white-boy with a pinch of cherokee in there, and i'm a polyamorous, panromantic demisexual, and i prefer He/Him pronouns!

considering cbox is down, after reading through all your lore, the one thing i really wanted to mention, there's another couple animals you could add later on maybe
Boar: wild boar are omnivorous, and usually scavenge for berries, truffles, etc etc. but, they'll also eat things like carcasses, eggs, and will hunt if they are hungry enough or simply if they have the chance. sometimes they'll wait for other animals to kill something and scare off the other predators, other times they'll corner prey and take it down themselves. they're usually in groups too and very territorial but as you said with wolves, the aurora might disrupt them as well. possibly, it'd make them more vicious, more predator than scavanger, and believe me when i say- a boar can fuck you up, big time. but expect more of leg and torso wounds, they're not 'go for the throat' like other predators, they're 'get them down on the ground first' and then tear into you, or trample you, etc.
Mountain lions: i don't know much about them, because they're just not around here xD but i know they're in parts of canada and on the west coast of america, they're damn fierce as well.
also the thing about deer, it really depends on how often they're hunted in the area. often in areas where no hunting is allowed like in certain nature reserves around us, the deer are actually not too afraid of humans and actually pretty curious of you. certain wild deer (while usually the younger, more 'naive' animals) will come up to you, i've personally had wild deer approach me while offering it food. a young doe ate an apple right from my hand (it was adorable). i know that doesn't mean the deer wouldn't want to run from a human, but the way you guys state it seems like if you get too close to the deer, it will run away 100% of the time. i know with it being a year after the blackout there'd be a lot more hunters suddenly, but still maybe a more realistic mechanic would be it'd run 60-75% of the time? o3o considering in animal taming, you mentioned deer, i suppose that'll be tameable in the future, but that'd be hard if they ran away all the time.

With Deer that's basically how the game it's based on has programmed it. They run away from everything though (including wolves) and I suspect its to increase the challenge. The other hand wavey option would be 'eh geomagnetic mess up'. Which is what the game does.
I'm certainly looking into boar and mountain lions and possibly lynx (I think Canada has lynx) to add a few more challenges to the game.
