Zed Severin
AGE 19 | PROFESSION Drifter | GENDER Male | FACECLAIM Terushima Yuuji, Haikyuu!! |
DESCRIPTION
He's young, but the look in his eyes is 100 years old. he's jaded by the world, but wiser for it, and still manages to smile for some reason or another. he's not your average canadian, as he's not canadian at all- instead, he's some hybridization of a Hillbilly, Redneck, and aparently some Native American too, but an american all the same. he looks like your average white-boy who's out in the sun all day.
he's got hazel eyes, a light brown with green flecks- they seem golden in sunshine, greenish in the cover of forest, silverish in the moonlight, and a bit dull and ominous in dim lighting.
his hair is naturally brown, but when out in the sun it fades to blonde- it's evident where he lets the top of his hair grow longer and faded, and usually keeps his sides shaved short that is newer and still a dark brown. his eyebrows and even the tips of his eyelashes are also golden blonde, because he certainly doesn't care to shave, and it seems his beard might be a late bloomer....
his skin is just as sunkissed as his hair, bronzed with little specks of darker freckles pretty much all over his body. he usually wears a black t-shirt, thick, worn baggy jeans, a pair of alligator skin boots that very-well appear to be home-made, his father's old army jacket that does a pretty good job of keeping him warm, and his father's m21 from NAM.

nono im joking, it's a good song, but let me be serious here.
Zed's beliefs are a mix of Cherokee and Christian traditions passed down from generations before, although there's not much cherokee in him, there's still many relatives with much closer ties, some being 75% or more native american... but he's just mostly white boy. raised in a more traditional life in the near un-tamed mountains of west virgina where his whole family had resided for generations, and near-cut off from the rest of the world. they didn't have tvs, video games, and other things of the like other normal kids had.
but he had family, more than most kids, where bonding was made through hunting, fishing, harvesting, building together. he had traditions, celebrations, festivals, superstitions. he was taught that blood was thicker than water, and that you stood by family nomatter what. that's why when the blackout first occured, life continued as normal for them, but even so his father needed medications, and after he ran out of those his health rapidly declined and he passed away.
for a while it was just him and his mother surviving together, but one day he got seperated from her in the fog, and he was never able to find her. for weeks he searched for her, knowing the woman had no sense of direction and would have no clue where she was going, but he never found her- he always wondered the worst, but also that maybe she was still out there somewhere, moving on by himself was the hardest damn thing for him to do, but the area was becoming far too dangerous to stay in.
so he's just all by himself... and has been, for a while. every so often, he's come across people, some who helped him, some who he helped, but somehow unfortunate things would always occur to leave him alone, so very alone...
there's really nothing that motivates him. nothing but the natural born instinct to stay alive, find food, shelter. maybe the belief that out here in the woods, he is one with the nature spirits, and his ancestors are one with nature, so as long as he's out here, he's never alone, he's always with his family. nature was his family now... it supports him, nourishes him, punishes him, and one day it will take him... and one day he'll be one with it as well.
