HUNTING
This skill helps in three ways. First of all, it helps with the stalk; As you get more proficient at the hunting skill you're more capable of reading the signs of animals in the area, and understand how they may react to your presence. You also become more adept at staying downwind of your target animal. Secondly, it helps with taking the shot; Adding onto the archery and firearms skills, increased proficiency at this skill grants you better knowledge of the animal's anatomy. This helps to dictate exactly where you'll place your shot, giving a better chance of getting an immediate kill as you learn to target areas like the torso and neck, as well as increasing your chance of landing an accurate shot to where you can drop the animal the quickest. Finally, this skill allows you to more easily track your prey- both before and after the shot; First locating the animal by the signs of them being in the area and determining how recently an animal has been present. This may be by bark being stripped from trees, claw marks, or disturbed snow as if something had been rooting about. Equally, if you've missed a clean kill you find it easier to follow the animals line of sight - sometimes even predicting how it will fly. This allows you to catch up to and dispatch a kill quickly.
Two new books have been introduced for this skill: 'Wild Animals of the Frozen Wastes, Hunting Anatomy.' 'The Frontiersman of the 1880's', and field dressing your kill will also provide half of their normal upgrade points to this skill.
